The trip starts from Ålesund straight after Gann has docked. The bus with an English-speaking guide takes us inland along the beautiful Storfjorden. Here you are told about the area and about places you drive past.
After 1.5 hours of driving we are at Linge where you take the ferry across the fjord (10 min). When you get to the top of the mountain in Eidsdal, the descent towards Geiranger starts with the 11 bends. We stop at the largest of the bends – Ørnesvingen. There will be a photo stop here and the opportunity to photograph Geiranger and the fjord. The deep, blue Geiranger Fjord is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is surrounded by majestic mountain peaks, wild waterfalls and green and lush vegetation.
Down in the center of Geiranger, lunch will be served. Here there are usually quite a few people and a bustling life. After a good stop (2 hours) here you get back on the bus and now we drive up to Flydalsjuvet where you get a great view of Geiranger from the other side with the fjord in the background. After a great experience in the tourist village, the journey back to Ålesund starts, where Gann is waiting.
The actual bus journey from Ålesund to Geiranger is approximately 2.5 hours each way.
