We drive through the city and you will hear about how the art nouveau town of Ålesund came to be and see some of the art nouveau houses up close. Continue up to Aksla where you get a fantastic view of the city and the islands beyond. Then the trip goes to Langevåg - to the well-known woolen factory Devold.
For more than 160 years, Devold has developed woolen products with unbeatable comfort, quality and protection. They are international pioneers in the development of innovative merino wool made for outdoorsmen, adventurers and professionals who work in demanding environments. Today, the factory contains a textile museum and several outlet stores. Here you can buy Devoldware and many other goods at a reduced price. Devoldfabrikken currently has these Outlet stores; Bergans, Devold, Swims, Helly Hansen, etc. In addition to this, we have a fantastic flower and interior shop, Binderiet. Here you will also find the Celsius Glass Studio, which has real craftsmanship. Here you can visit glass artist Cecilie and see how she makes glass art. One person in the group gets to blow their own piece of art. Devoldfabrikken also has a cafe where you can buy a coffee and something to eat.
The exclusive thing is that "Devoldbanen" opens its premises just for you on this day! This is Northern Europe's largest model railway (north of Hamburg) that builds facilities with both direct current and alternating current. Here you will find American, Norwegian and continental trains alternating. The courses are made up of landscapes from abroad and inland.
